Greenpois0n Absinthe 0.3 Available With Linux Support And Bug Fixes — Download Now!

The Greenpois0n Absinthe A5 untethered jailbreak tool for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 has been updated to version 0.3 to bring support to Linux operating system. There’s nothing really new in v0.3 except some cosmetic changes and a fix for a small bug which comes to Windows users.

The Absinthe jailbreak has been released last Friday to welcome A5 users in the jailbreak community. Absinthe jailbreak tool was downloaded over 1 million times on that day. Cydia was also installed on 953,232 iOS devices over the weekend.

    Jailbreaking my phone has seemed to cause network issues, text messages aren’t sending for me. I confirmed the jailbreak is the problem by removing it and checking. After reinstalling the problems started up again. Any ideas about why this is happening or a possible solution?

    Do we have to unbreak to update or can we just update in Cydia?

    I used absinthe a few days ago, and it all worked really well. Today I received a new SIM after porting to another carrier. The phone wouldn’t take the new SIM. (It alternated between “No SIM” and “SOS Only” in the top left corner).

    After a few reboots and “reset network settings” I got phone coverage, but no data, even after installing the carrier update, and verifying the APN.

    After a DFU and re-install of iOS5.0.1 3G network was fine. After another Jailbreak (using 0.2) it was still fine.

    I don’t have a problem now, its just worth noting that the jailbreak may interfere with the behaviour of an otherwise unlocked phone…

    I’m replying to my own post. Very sad.

    I TAKE IT ALL BACK! I had a “Profile” loaded which changed my APN to something which only worked on the old carrier. JB was in no way responsible for the 3G issues I had.

    After cydia installation on my ipad 2 5.0.1 my camera doesnt work, nothin’ helped me… I deleted cydia making my ipad like a new, and it still doesnt work!!

    FYI. iPad 2.
    Tried the Linux version- did not work. Tried the Windows version- did not work. Borrowed a Mac and it worked – took almost 5 hours to complete. Only problem was the Music disappeared. Copied it back to the iPad. All is well.
