A major update has been released for the iFaith application by the iOS hacker and sn0wbreeze creator iH8sn0w. iFaith, like TinyUmbrella, allows to save your iOS device’s SHSH blobs which is necessary to preserve the ability to downgrade firmware in the future.
It doesn’t support the A5 devices and the Mac OS X version is also unavailable. However, the update supports iOS versions upto 5.0.1, so if you have an A4 device and a simple Windows PC. It is highly recommended that you download the latest update of iFaith.
Apple has been signing SHSH blobs differently in iOS 5 than they did in the previous iOS versions, snatching the ability of replaying them during a firmware restore from the users. And many of you would be aware by now that downgrading firmware in iOS 5 is almost impossible.
But iFath, along with saving the accompanying AP ticket, saves your SHSH blobs, which makes downgrading theoretically possible.
iH8sn0w says the blob-dumping is much faster than before. Along with that the new iFaith brings about some major bug fixes. You can download the new iFaith from iH8sn0w’s website. If you found this post useful, hopefully hit the +1 (recommend) button ⇉
