iOS 5 Custom Firmwares Semi Tethered (DOWNLOAD LINKS)

Few days ago we showed you how to semi tether iOS 5 jailbreak using a tweak in Cydia developed by BigBoss. The semi tethered jailbreak is a kind of jailbreak which closes the gap between untethered and tethered jailbreaks. It’s specifically made for some cases where you’re away from your computer and your iPhone got rebooted.

Today, we’re bringing something you’ll surely like. For anyone got some issues or problems while using the semi tether jailbreak, we’ve a fix for you.

Below we’ve direct download links for iOS 5 custom IPSW firmwares already semi tethered pre-jailbroken using Sn0wbreeze. Oh, and they’ll help you also if your iPhone is not activated.

Once downloaded your custom firmware, you can restore using iTunes but you may face some errors. You can fix any errors using one of the below tools:

  • iREB developed by iH8sn0w (download here).
  • Redsn0w by the iPhone Dev Team, you can use Pwned DFU mode to fix any errors (download here).
  • TinyUmbrella by notcom to fix errors like 3194 by starting TSS servers (download here).

    by pre jailbreak do you mean i can use these links for my non jailbroken phone…after upgrading will i be able to unlock my phone using gevey .. please help.. i will wait for your reply.

    does the custom ipsw for the iphone 4 cdma has a preserved baseband, or I’ll still have the baseband showing on my iphone 3.0.03, because I only need the baseband to change, since I’ve already jailbroken my iphone, everything works perfect, have phone line, but can not activate network o cellular data (3g) already purchased 1 month for 3g, and it’s not working, can you tall me if that will be fix if I restore with the custom ipsw?

    I Have an Iphone4 running on 4.3.5 with Baseband 4.10.01. I am using a Gevy Sim since my phone is locked toa different carrier. Currently i have it jailroken using Rednsn0w. Shld i upgrade using the above link and will it work. Because if it does not i would be stuck with a Ipod unstead of Iphone since Apple has stopped signing 4.3.5 . Kindly tell me the process to do so.

    Any custom firmware created via sn0wbreeze will preserve your baseband. In this case, you will retain your gevey unlock.

    Unfortunately, the links for iphone4 custom firmware are giving errors at this point of time.

    The reason I downloaded the iOS5 from here is that it’s ACTIVATED (no need for and original SIM to activate first time after restoring). The rest works as always – native baseband is preserved, GEVEY is working with 4.10.1. Using Windows 7 x64.

    Using either wouldn’t make a difference to your unlock as both are safe :)

    If you have a factory unlocked phone then you can use either. The “activated” firmware is for those who own a carrier locked phone but are using other (unltrasn0w/gevey) methods to unlock.

    As far as installous in concerned, Apptrackr recently tweeted confirming that his new update for AppSync works on iOS5 semi-tether.

    same here !! error 21 at the restore because after i put my iPhone in DFU mode it suddenly reboots (at the beginning of the restore process when its “verifying with apple”) and if i manually re-force the DFU mode during the restore i get error 1600!! please help
