It’s have been two months since the beta release of iOS 5.1 to developers, and since then we heard nothing from the developers, but couple of days ago we’ve got a leaked screenshot of a camera button in lock screen to easily access your camera from locked screen, and we also knew that Siri will support Japanese and another 2 new features.
Today, we have some good news for you; ChronicWire reported that iOS 5.1 Gold Master passes quality assurance phase and will be available in the next few days.
The Gold Master build of iOS 5.1 has been in a vigorous quality assurance phase for the past three weeks, with extensive testing being done internally by Apple as well as by various carriers/partners.
Also the report contained some news about iOS 5.1 build number
The build number of iOS 5.1 Gold Master is 9B176 according to a very solid source, although three different partners who are testing the Gold Master claim to have slightly (by single digits) higher builds numbers on their copies, I’m assuming that’s because right now it’d make sense for those people to be testing what will soon be released as 5.1.1, so I’ve disregarded the claims.
Apple now is doing various tests of its upcoming iOS to avoid what happened with iOS 5 and all the bugs we found, we all know the annoying battery life bug that we hope Apple will fix it in iOS 5.1. As we said the next iOS will support the Japanese language and
we should see iOS 5.1 GM seeded to developers in the next few days, may be tomorrow, and the public release will follow.
