Hey i Have a 3GS and Ipad Base band and jailbroke . and GPS issue is Fixed . there is a steps to upgrade to ipad base band . then Redsn0w 0.9.9b6 to install the ipad base again . then jail break . it should work.

Hello. I have a disabled iphone 4 phone (son did it trying to get into phone to play angry birds) and I would like to NOT do a restore with itunes because I’m afraid that Apple will update my baseband. I have no idea what software version or baseband my phone is on, since I now cannot get into it. Question is can I do the steps above, skipping step #2? I don’t care if I loose anything on the phone, I just need the phone working again for work and I want to avoid the chance of a baseband upgrade. Any info would be great.

I’m sorry to admit I’m gving up about iPad baseband issue. Gps won’t work anymore as apple this time made things very good. Unfortunately dev-team can’t downgrade our BB. No proper fix.
At least hope to be able to upgrade to an untethered ios5 on my 3GS one day

**CONFUSED** My iphone4 (Model MC605X ios5.0[9A334] Firmware 04.11.08) accepts ANY sim card here in Australia. I just need to jailbreak then for Cydia etc?? If my phone takes any sim I don’t have to worry about my baseband?? Am I on the right track???

Baseband is only a concern for unlocking purposes, so if that’s not a concern then your good to go mate!

All u have to do is upgrade the phone with either tiny umbrella or make a custom iOS 5 ipsw that way when u upgrade u will preserve ur baseband look how to do it on goole

It is a tethered jailbreak for now.

So far it’s just a fix for battery issues with iOS5 and iPhone 4G. Any other new features will be announced if they are going to be probably before release or on release to the public.

To this minute there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5, 5.0.1 beta 1 or beta 2. Although the guys workin on it have found a bit of a break @pod2g (a jailbreak developer) said this “Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard in it.” So it’s just a matter of time before we get an untethered jailbreak.

That is so true…I sometimes brag that I was beyond ios5 since the day I got my ipodtouch 4g last year and jailbroke it with greenpo1s0n the same day on 4.1 straight out of the box and had to be very aggressive making sure it didn’t get updated to 4.2 (my bro in law already had it downloading thinking he was doing me a favor….i freaked out and literally pulled the plug lol …although its true i can be jailbroken on 4.2 i just think they tell you not to update for a reason…and once your jailbroken….you can pretty much make your idevice do the same features as 4.2., or higher, wait a minute….no…you can do everything and ANYTHING you can possibly IMAGINE!!!!!!!!!!! i freaking love my itouch and would NEVER trade it not even for a white one! just glad i got it when i did not sure if they even still sell with 4.1 out the box ;/

ckick again the Redsnow 9.9b or 9.9b4 application if your version of iphone is 5.0 this is the Iphone 3,1_5.0_9A334Restore.Click the redsnow apps click extras you will see just boot then click.Then prepare for DFU mode.but version 5.0 below is tethered once you’ll install the cydia u will know again do the Unthedered because if u dont do u will see a apple icon crash.

Try reconnecting again or reboot the pc.As you do the teathered just click extras,you will see a just boot click it and be ready for DFU mode.

i did it correctly. The only way it works for me is when i download iFlie and Safari Download manager and it works. I can download apps, only problem is that safari crashes now… :S

after i hit Jusst Boot.and followed the DFU instructions, i guess im waiting for it to reboot but the apple keeps appearing for about 4 secs and then is replaced by the little cirlce thing that spins. do i just let it keep doing whatever its doinbhg or did i F up???

If you have already jailbroken your idevice then that is when u just boot.. but u must jailbreak and install cydia first.. then you have to choose your restore from your downloads again and then just boot.. it will work then hope this helped

redsn0w is not working for the 5.0.1 yet I have had the same problem, but it does work for the 5.0 and to get rid of the cydia white icon (we all hate that, and have all had that problem) just rejailbreak it using 5.0, there is not much of a difference in 5.0 and 5.0.1

Hey i jailbreak my iphone with all the seps.. cydia worked but when I tried to download ultrasn0w so GSM would work, the respring is no tworking, it doesent appaear the lockscreen, the whit apple surreonded lack remains still! please help me with this!

I found it impossible to jailbreak my iPad iOS 5.0.1 using the tutorial above. Hopefully, my version will save other users the time I wasted.

Before you begin
* redsn0w can’t automatically jailbreak iOS 5.0.1. You need to point it to a iOS 5.0 IPSW.
* STEP 1 in the tutorial above tells you to download iOS 5.0.1 for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This is wrong: the screenshot in STEP 3 correctly shows an iPhone 5.0 file.

1. Find and download a 5.0 IPSW (for example, iPad1,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw).
2. Run redsn0w. (I’m using redsn0w_mac_0.9.9b7.)
3. Click Extras.
4. Click Select IPSW, and then browse to the iOS 5.0 file you downloaded in my step 1. A file called something like iPad1,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw is no good: you’ll get a fingerprint error.
5. Click Back.
6. Click Jailbreak.

Once your device is jailbroken, you need to enable Cydia and get rid of its white icon:

1. Run redsn0w.
2. Click Extras.
3. Click Select IPSW, and then browse to the iOS 5.0 file you downloaded in my step 1.
4. Click Just boot.

I have jailbroken my iphone 4 and white cydia icon is on the phone but when i try to just reboot it the redan0w shows unexpected error and phone screen stays black. I have managed to get it back on but every time I try to jailbreak it now it says unrecognized build as well. Anyone knows whats the problem?

It won’t work since the 4S (as well as iPad2) are on A5 chip-set. The jailbreak will work only on A4, but I believe that soon enough we’ll hear news about the A5 as well
