MuscleNerd today announced on his Twitter account that he’s going to push a major Redsn0w upgrade which will be released before Monday. Redsn0w 0.9.8b5_p will bring so many features. You won’t need to select an IPSW everytime you use tethered boot. Redsn0w 0.9.8b5_p will also allow you to save and submit your SHSH blobs to Cydia.
Moreover, RedSn0w 0.9.8b5_p automatically fetches the important pieces directly from Apple and caches them so that it never needs to re-fetch them again but it won’t fetch the iOS 5 betas since they aren’t public, you need to give it the IPSW yourself the first time, then it caches it.
Redsn0w is a popular jailbreak tool developed by the iPhone Dev Team which has been popular for the last year. MuscleNerd always merge found exploits in Redsn0w so it can jailbreak any iOS device.
Redsn0w, the latest version, is currently tethered jailbreak only on any firmware higher than iOS 4.3.3. For those stuck on iOS 4.3.4, iOS 4.3.5 or iOS 5 betas, you’ll need to wait for an untethered jailbreak on iOS 5 whenever it’s released.
