by Ahmed Omar on October 16, 2011

Apple announced the iPhone 4S couple of weeks back at Let’s Talk iPhone event. The iPhone 4S comes on AT&T, Verizon and for the first time on Sprint. The handset begun to be sold in many countries two days ago. It’s supposed to be sold with 2-year contract.

iPhone 4S Without Contract

Although Apple is set to sell its contract-free and unlocked version of the iPhone 4S in November, it looks like some people can already get the iPhone 4S unlocked, without contract.

An iPhone developer named  could purchase and verify an unlock iPhone 4S. The contract-free iPhone 4S is sold in its own packaging without including any carrier labeling.

Select Apple Stores in the United States have begun selling contract-free versions of the iPhone 4S, [...] The contract-free, unlocked iPhone 4S included an AT&T SIM card, which is of course removable. Apple sells this special iPhone 4S for $649, $749, and $849 for 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, respectively.

Once you get the unlocked the unlocked iPhone 4S, you just need to plug it into your computer and iTunes will pop up with a message similar to the above taken in screenshot.

We don’t know from where exactly can you get the iPhone 4S. May be you’ll need to wait for November. Of course the above case is not a *mistake*.
