Apple’s Safari On iPhone VS Google’s Chrome On Android (Video)

by Soha El-Borgy on February 11, 2012

In a head to head competition between Apple’s mobile browser Safari, known for its stability and good performance, and Google’s new Chrome for Android, AndroidCentral, a famous Android blog, has demoed a video test showing both browsers in action.

So both Chrome on Android and Safari on the iPhone 4S score 100 out of 100 on the Acid3 test, which checks to see if the browser complies with various web standards. Good to see. SunSpider benchmarks how a browser handles Javascript tasks. Chrome on Android has consistently edged out Safari, in our testing.

While Andoroid Central found Chrome for Android to beat Apple’s Safari handling Javascripts. Both browsers handled Acid3test perfectly which tests a browser’s ability to compile various web standards.

When it comes to every browser user daily tasks like scrolling, zooming and panning, Safari showed excelling results beating its competitor with its smoother panning and zooming.

It’s probably worth noting that Chrome is still in beta version. It will probably improve in future updates.

who cares if a browser is half a milisecond faster. Wtf? android is buggy and ios is way way more smooth. This guy didnt say in the video that chrome preloads caches when you’re typing, thats why it’s a bit faster. When you write goo the browser allready prealoads google’s cache and BUT IF YOU’RE ON 3G IT CAN BE EXPENSIVE. you register more traffic

    I want a fast browser.
I also want a browser that will make me orgasm when using it. Chrome doesn’t do that.
Pinch to zoom lags, scrolling lags, the overall design is below that of safari…

I reckon it will either be ported to iPhone/iPad or google will develop it for us, and it will be better for us than them.
I mean, just looks at the google search app for he iPad, then look at it for honeycomb. Seems they out more effort in for ours ;)
