AT&T, Sprint and Verizon iPhone 4S Network Speed Test (VIDEO)

by Ahmed Omar on October 15, 2011

Our friends over iDownloadBlog have made a great video showing the iPhone 4S on its 3 careers: AT&T, Sprint and Verizon compared head-to-head. The comparison in the video below shows which network of the three is the fastest.

The iPhone 4S is a great device but when you come to buy the handset, it’s difficult to decide which career to choose. Sprint has the best pricing among the three but it looks like it’s not the right choice.

The test results show AT&T is the faster then Verizon and the slowest one is Sprint. However, both AT&T and Verizon having almost similar speed results with web browsing.

You might be now wondering between Verizon and AT&T. Verizon’s CDMA 3G technology gives a greate rate download speeds, allowing users to quickly snag smaller bites of data. So Verizon is quicker than AT&T only if you’re snagging small data.

Which career did you choose? Let us know in the comments section below.

Thanks for the comparison, this confirms that sprints data network is terrible.

    carrier, not career.

Does it matter that during the SpeedTest the Sprint & Verizon phones connected to Chicago, IL but the AT&T phone connected to Lexington, KY?

I just did the speed test on my Verizon Iphone and download was a lot faster than all of these at 1.08Mbps and upload was .62Mbps. I’m sure where they connect makes a difference. Mine connected to Dearborn MI which is 5 minutes from me. The fact AT&T connected to a different place than the other two has to make a difference.

Just got 4.01 down and 1.24 up I’m in new york so I guess that that’s the reason we got different speeds.

Forgot to mention my career is AT&T

My Network Is Verizon the best network. Screw sprint and AT&T piece of shit they don’t deserve to have the iPhone.

  • ATT

No network besides att deserves to carry the iphone name. Verizon is lucky to even have the iphone

Just tested mine on the AT&T Network in the Houston Area. I got 88 ms ping, 4.95 Mb/s Down, and 1.08 Mb/s Up.

All I have to say is in regards
to the usage of word “career”
in this post. The correct word
    to use is “carrier.”

Can anyone who has a Sprint iPhone 4S insert an AT&T or T-Mobile sim card and see if it works? Sprint is supposedly initially selling the iPhone 4S with an unlocked sim and will be locking the sim later through an over the air update. I was just wondering though if in the meantime, prior to them pushing the update, if you are able to use either an AT&T or T-Mobile sim cards.

Hi Jeff – could you also compare and tell us about the 4G network speed as well from Sprint and Verizon comparing with AT&T 3G speeds. Just want to see how much slower is the AT&T 3G network in comparison with the 4G networks. thanks

Just switched from AT&T to Verizon. Great choice! Faster internet speeds compared to others around me on the AT&T network. No dropped phone calls so far on the Verizon Network, where as when I was with AT&T it was dropped call after dropped call.

proofreading would be nice. Carrier not CAREER.

It isn’t really a toss up between AT&T and Verizon on the 4S, AT&T clearly has higher performance with HSPA+ in most markets. Sprint just doesn’t have the same capacity. BTW, you must be in a slow performance area since you phones didn’t even get above 1Mbps on any speedtest… EVDO is pokey compared with HSPA+, it was already limited as compared with HSPA.
