Some users were facing issues with DRM protected books on iBooks after they have had jailbreaked their iPhone or iPads with Corona. The problem was that images and text were being displayed incorrectly in the DRM protected books. The situation was significant and captured the attention of the jailbreak dream team. It was announced that the jailbreak team is working on Corona 1.0.6 to fix this specific issue. Although Corona 1.0-6 is not available yet, the issue has been solved in the newly updated version of Redsn0w for both Mac OS X and Windows.
Users who have already jailbroken their iOS devices with RedSn0w would only have to re-run RedSn0w. However, they would have to make sure that they uncheck the “install Cydia” option. For users who have not jailbroken their iOS devices, you can do so by following our jailbreak guide here. However, you would have to make sure that you jailbreak your device using Redsn0w 0.9.10b5 for Windows or Mac.
Redsn0w 0.9.10b5 for Windows can be downloaded , whereas the Mac version can be downloaded from .
The jailbreak dream team has managed to resolve the iBooks issue by employing a similar technique which was previously used by JailbreakMe creator Comex to fix these issues for iOS 4. The technique bypasses the device checks implemented by Apple to find out if a device is jailbroken or not. If the device check finds out that the iPhone or iPad is jailbroken the display of certain text and images gets broken. By bypassing these checks, the images and text are displayed normally.
