The well known iPhone hacker & developer iH8sn0w update his useful tool iREB to bring some improvements and bug fixes. For those who’re not aware, iREB is a window-only tool developed by iH8sn0w which puts your iOS device into pwned DFU mode. iREB helps you to fix iTunes errors such as 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604 and more when trying to restore using a custom IPSW created by redsn0w or sn0wbreeze.
iREB works exactly by uploading 3 pwned files using iTunnel to make iTunes accept any kind of firmwares no matter it’s custom one or not.
I updated iREB for the first time in 10 months. Release 5 is now available at ih8sn0w.com // Release Notes -- pastie.org/3175967

iREB R5:
- Much smaller file size (390kb).
- Fixed USB 3.0 issues.
- iREB’s speed for the iPhone 2G/iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 1G has increased significantly!
- Fixed rare DFU detection issues.
- Updated limera1n/steaks4uce payload to not hook “cmd_go” on 4.x images (nothing severe, but useless here).
