So once the official iOS 5 is released next week we’ll see these userland jailbreaks for the ipad 2? I certainly hope so, I’ve been patiently waiting for some time now. I’m sure I’m not the only iPad 2 user waiting for a jailbreak that isn’t jailbreakme 3.0.

Unlock for previous iPhones will come shortly after the first jailbreak. Sn0wbreeze will have to be updated to chop off the portion of iOS that updates the baseband & ultrasn0w will have to be updated to work with the new iOS 5. I am not an expert but that is my understanding.

Who knows when the unlock will be available for for the 4S? It will be exciting to get it though, especially if it allows you to switch to the CDMA carriers. This will make my 4S irresistible to a larger market of people who don’t want to sign a 2 year contract when I sell my iPhone 4S to upgrade to the iPhone 5 next year. Muahahaha!

I agree Eric, dosent play flash, unresponsive keyboard, “can’t do this and can’t do that” errors/restrictions. Can’t download even PDF files from the inter web. But it does look great IMHO.

for tethered, whever you turn off your device, you need to plug your device into the computer to boot it by “re-jailbreaking” while when you have an untethered jailbreak, you can just boot it up or turn it off whever you want XD.

There seems to be very little on when the 4s jailbreak will be released. I have looked very hard and found a lot of info that sounds like its not going to be a problem and it could be at any time but that being said I have no idea.

I anticipate upon release of any jailbreak they will aim to make it useable on all devices. Just depends on what exploit they discover and how they can use it. ipod touches seeing as how theyve been jailbreakable/untethered in the past will most likley be included in that bunch. Seeing as how the 4s has a new processor and likley hardware upgrades to close the limerain exploit, the ETA on those is truly unknown. hopefully soon! were all waiting yo

iphone dev team they will update once any valid jailbreak is out. as for status updates i think pod2g is the one working on it now, or musclenerd, comex, i0n1c, check them all out on twitter and maybe youll find something out. its all very hush hush until everything is ready for the public.

first of all, rushing is pointless. it just annoys the developers and distracts them with drama rather than the real work that needs to be done which is jailbreak our devices.

Some people just dont realize the significance of these exploits these developers find and make to get our phones working. ever heard of “a needle in a haystack” will the haystack has ASLR. Adress space layout randomization.

So if you guys want to sit and whine about how your devices are so shitty because theyre not jailbroken then try and do it Yourself! As far as the sales, nothing is going to stop them, they make quality products and the jailbreak is like icing on the cake.

what I meant was 4 million in the first weekend. Your right, I don’t think companies are copying apple. I think apple layed a lot of the ground work for great minds to build on. Even Steve parted from apple. Although devestated, he persevered started NeXT then pixar then apple again. I think resilience, style, simplicity, and the craving for something newer and better is what apple is all about.

Not to mention they now have a stake in everything. Music industry with itunes, video with apple tv, being the only phone manufacturer to get subsidies from phone contracts. No matter how much some people hate apple, what eludes them is they are too big to fail.

ive nearly saved up enough dollars to buy a andiroid tablet, its been so long ive been waiting for ipad2 jailbreak. apperently, i can teather this ipad to my non-iphone phone and use my data plan on ipad. ofcourse if there is ever a jailbreak for this that is. i wish id listened to the people in the know, and bought a google powered device. could have tethered from day one then.
Why didnt i just get a 3g ipad2?because the sim from my mobile will not fit into the ipad2 and pay as u go data is a rip off, when i will only need it occationally. even the touch screen sucks on this. i mean, which device dosent play flash these days, except apples?? at leaset give me the option of running flash, it the batt runs out after 2hrs, thats my problem, mr apple.
