Now we have another great news for people who got their iPhones locked on iOS 5.0′s baseband 4.11.08 and iOS 5.1′s baseband 4.12.01. Gevey has just released a new updated version of their hardware unlocking solution. Gevey’s updated Ultra interposer SIM will unlock your iPhone 4′s on baseband 4.11.08 and baseband 4.12.01.
A lot of people got their iPhones locked on iOS 5.0′s baseband 4.11.08 by updating accidentally when it was released in October last year. There’s was no solution available in market to unlocking aforementioned basebands until today. Almost every dev team was working on bringing a solution for these basebands but it was a hard cookie to crack but Gevey has finally cracked it.
The new GEVEY™ Ultra unlocks your GSM iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 and earlier and now supports modem firmware versions 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10.1, 4.11.08, and 4.12.01. Currently, a tethered Jailbreak is available for iOS 5.1 for iPhone 4, and you will also need to install the latest Furious Mod file for proper operation.
This latest version of Gevey Ultra SIM has been released after rigorous testing process and it will work on following basebands:
- 1.59
- 2.10
- 3.10.1
- 4.10.1
- 4.11.08
- 4.12.01
It will also work on devices running iOS 4.0 and above, if you’re running iOS 5.1 and you want to unlock it just keep in mind that this version of Gevey requires you to jailbreak your iOS device and there is no untethered jailbreak available for iOS 5.1. But you can jailbreak your iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 tethered using latest version of redsn0w in order to unlock it using Gevey.
In case you’re wondering if it requires Furious Mod or not then Yes it requires Furious Mod which is the only reason you need to jailbreak your iOS device. Furious Mod allows you to bypass the process of dialing 112 for unlocking process.
