if i understood it right the 5.0 A5 jailbreak and the 5.0.1 jailbreak will get released at the same time or the 5.0 a bit later.. so no need for me to downgrade

Ipad 2 needs not Unlock .. All versions of IPAD 2 GSM MODELS are Factory Unlocked
If you’re talking about ( UNLOCK ) if you’re asking about the next Jailbreak for the A5 Devices then it’s Better to be on 5.0.1 …

Do iphone4 users have to Downgrade as well … As it’s kinda Odd… as the untethered jailbreak is on iOS-5.0.1 and downgrading would be hard for those who haven’t SAVED their SHSH blobs when they had their Tethered jailbreaks on iOs-5.0

Why has this site been suggesting an upgrade before the actual jailbreak comes out? Why don’t you just wait until all the facts are straight before you make suggestions? I’m finding another site to get information from, this one is whack.

I don’t quite get the point of unlocking and jailbreaking. Wouldn’t ypu want to stay with your plan? I know some companies charge an early termination fee. I’m very primitive on the whole unlocking hype, but, all it seems to me is just an iPhone that can function on any network. Is it really a big deal to do that? Or is there some other benefits to unlocking an iPhone. As far as I know, I just like customizing and getting cydia apps.

So let me get this straight. If I wanted the 4S on an untethered jailbreak, I need it to be on 5.0.1, BUT if I wanted it unlocked I need to get it on 5.0. Wow…

If you like getting Cydia apps and customizing then how come you don’t get the point of jailbreaking!?! Cause that what jailbreaking is for!!!!
As for unlocking, people would prefer some network over other because the plan rate they are given is fair and their network has crappy ass phone and want the iPhone.

or

unlock iphone 4s = unlock the iphone 4s baseband , to accept other sim card ?

unlock iphone 4s = accept any sim card from any carrier/unlock baseband

jailbreak is a different thing, it allows you to have cydia and download tweaks

if apple is still signing 5.0, then it would be okay. What they would want people to do is downgrade back to 5.0 if they already updated to 5.0.1.

What will happen is more or less like this scenario:

1. downgrade to 5.0
2. create a custom 5.0.1 firmware to keep the base band the same and not be updated
3. Since its a custom firmware it already has cydia/jailbroken

So unless apple isn’t signing 5.0 anymore, it won’t be much of a problem. (Though it would be a long process restoring back all the files again after downgrade) (sweat)

Try downgrading it back to 5.0 since the post mentioned apple is still signing firmware 5.0

I hope 4.11.08 gets an unlock soon. >_<

This came out of the box like this, & is it possible to dwngrade to 5.0 from my 5.0.1 without any backups.?
