I think the hackers just kind of… don’t really see 4.3.5 as a priority as it’s just an anti-jailbreak security update. In their eyes, you shouldn’t have updated iOS5 is something new and that they want JB’d for themselves too, so they’re a bit quicker with that.

Now it’s a question of how many weeks after it’s released until they kindly share this hack hehe.

If they jail broken 4.3.5, and released it. Apple would of tried everything to patch up the 5.0 build during the beta, making it a harder job for the hackers to find the exploit to jailbreak the devices.
Because they waited for the 5.0 release, Apple can’t do anything until a 5.0.1 or higher build to try patch up the jailbreak exploits, which’ll be too late as people wont update and keep all the great 5.0 features.
Honestly it isn’t rocket science to why they hadn’t released a 4.3.5 build.

You know tethered jailbreaks only suck because of the boot when you aren’t by a computer running the program, you know what i do, since there is always a computer somewhere and just know the software you need? i stuck the ipsw and the redsnow program on a flash drive so if anything ever happens they are handy. right now i am still waiting for the untether ios 5 to be released but honestly if its not out i may just use the tethered. I have less issues. I was running snowbreeze on 4.2.8 and i think within 3 month i had restore and re-break probably 5 times, i havent’t had one issue, other than the booting with the tethered. 

On another note, what package and source does everyone use for backing up there sources and packages? I did use Xbackup (cracked version) but it didnt’ always work right, moct of the time it only gave me back my sources and not the packages? Any help on a goodway to back would be awesome so i don’t have to reinstall all my tweaks and what now after updating to IOS5

Cydia sucks. Unfortunayely, its author bought rock witch were better than cydia and, now, we have no choice.

MD dude you really shouldn’t use cracked software. Wjth that said I always use PKGbackup and it has worked perfecrtly for me. It restores packages as well as my springboaed layout. With iOS 5 you will need to make sure all of your apps/packages are compatible before the backup/restore will work as it has for me. Im currently running iOS 4.3.3 on a 3gs NewBootRom. I’m patiently waiting on the untethered JB. Oh yeah and you should always donate to the hackers when you can. I know I do and I really appreciate all of their hard work.

Yes if you have your shsh saved. First restore to previous ios and make custom ipsw with ios 5. After that’s done restore by shift key and choose your custom. Google it, I got mine working on ios 5 with base and 04.10.1 and unlocked with gevey sim.

I did some reading up about iOS5 JB, and only updated because it sounded like it would be a couple of days til the release, and am reluctant to downgrade, because surely it can’t be long til an untethered is out? I’m sure a lot of the other “Free loaders” are annoyed for the same reason.

I am new at forums and Iphones plz excuse my ignorance, I just got a 3g on 4.2.1, I’m using h2o, I was trying to get mms so I did sn0wbreeze jailbreak, still couldn’t get mms. I did get the “cellular network tab” but no mms. H2o said I needed 4.1, I had it saved in cydia, I used redsn0w to downgrade to 4.1 it worked then when I started running cydia I lost wifi. I since did a pure restore back to 4.2.1, then re-jailbroke several times trying to get wifi back…..nothing. Did everything online except putting in the freezer! Is there any hope in getting wifi back or at least mms?

Here are the solutions: Recently redsn0w have released the iOS 5 Tethered Jailbreak and Semi-Tethered Jailbreak.

You guys might wonder what are the difference between Tethered Jailbreak and Semi-Tethered Jailbreak?
Here are the differences.

Tethered Jailbreak: You can jailbreak to use cydia and installous but the bad the things is you can’t power off your phone or reboot your phone you need to use redsn0w to boot tethered.

As for Semi-Tethered Jailbreak: You can jailbreak to use cydia and installous but you can reboot or power off your phone but once you reboot or power off you can still make call or messages but no longer can use cydia or installous you need to use back redsn0w to boot tethered again.

Hope it will help you guys.

A lot of us are stuck in baseband 4.11.08 and most needs an unlock as well as me, cause it’s purchased in uk and now I’m here in Phhilippines and for me, as of the moment, what is the use of jailbroken iphone if I can’t even make a normal call or send a text to someone. It is physically impossible to downgrade your baseband. You are now stuck on this baseband forever and if you were relying on Ultrasn0w or another unlocker that doesn’t support 4.11.08, you’re out of luck.

well you need to use a valid sim card like the one from at&t you can buy mini sim cards from ebay very cheap!!

Restore ur phone thru iTunes it will get it out of that mode!!!

I think the situation is the same for all of us with the “No SIM Card”; there is no way to restore through iTunes because it can not load the phone hence there is no restore option..?

you have to turn your phone to dfu mode and install the new Redsn0w0.9.9b6 and there your can make changes to your phoen.

switch off your phoen and connect to the pc which already should be connected to the internet. Open the iTune and it will give the option for restore your phone. ITune will automatically restore your iphone to factory setting. I hope it would help.
