Unlock iOS 5 With Ultrasn0w On iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS Coming Soon

so as an iPhone 3GS with 06.15.00 4.3.3…how should I go about unlocking/jailbreaking? Should I wait…usually use PwnageTool, is the new redsn0w fine?

use snowbreese to create a custom IPSW, but u wont be able to unlock it. I TRIED!…so i downgraded it back to 4.2.1 and unlocked it

I’m running an iPhone 3GS with the iPad 06.15.00 BB. Every time I try to install/uninstall/reinstall ultrasn0w I get two errors:
subprocess new post-removal script returned error exit status 1
Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Does this have anything to do with the upcoming update to ultrasn0w? Or is there something I have to do to fix this? Thanks in advance!

NOP U WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UNLOCK IT! they are going to release a new update of ultrasnow which is compatible with ios5 and after that u will be able to unlock ur device. so just wait patiently!

Guys I Upgraded to ios5 baseband 06.15.00. I installed Ultrasn0w 1.2.4 and it did not work at all:
After i rebooted the iphone I got signal and I actually received 2 sms BUTTTT my phone was still locked and showing “Please insert a valid SIM”. i could not get rid of that screen. So I decided to restore the phone (i do not know why i did it). NOT IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ANY SIM!NOT EVEN ITS ORIGINAL ONE WHICH USED TO WORK ! ! ! I get the “no sim error”.
What should I do now???

I know I k know. But soon there will be the possibility to do it.
I solved my problem yesterday by re-installing the baseband.
Now my iphone is jailbroken and unlocked.
I just cannot use the GPS
i HOPE THE DOWNGRADE TO BASEBAND 05.13.04 will come soon.
I really need the GPS

Ultrasn0w guys, you are awesome! One request, though… I purchased an iphone 4 off of Amazon, and it came installed with ios 5. Hence, I have the 4.11.08 baseband, and cannot unlock it. A lot of the blogs I see out here are really condescending (e.g., never use stock IPSW, you shouldn’t have upgraded, etc.) The thing is, if you buy a new iPhone 4, it will have a higher baseband, and this isn’t the user’s fault… more and more people will be stuck with this problem. Please develop a work-around for the latest baseband. If you do I’ll donate to the cause. Right now, I’m just stuck with an extremely expensive, thick iPod Touch.

mmm u can install the ipad baseband but you will lose the GPS!
It is what i did with my 3gs. Now I am waiting to downgrade from 6.15 (ipad baseband) to 5.13.02.
This will solve the GPS problem and it will keep the iphone unlocked.

Upgraded from 4.3.5 to new ios 5 yesterday. Was using gevey sim to use phone for bought off ebay from states and was an at&t phone. Now getting “Invalid Sim” Do I need to get a at&t sim now to get past this? Also how can I figure out which baseband it upgraded me to if can not get past the invalid sim? Am I hooped till I get the at&t sim? Or is there anything I can do?

I got Baseband 05.16.05, so Unlock on my 3GS with IOS5 is impossible. Guys .. hope you will solve this Baseband in next version, maybe 1.2.5?

Just jailbreak your 3gs once again using the latest version of redsn0w (0.9.9b8). Remember to install again the ipad baseband.
once the jailbreak is completed install the latest version of ultrasn0w.

And this time i should not enable location services in the ser up right??

you can enable the location services if you use the latest version of resn0w.
but, just to be “more” sure, i would disable the location services and enable it again afterwards.

i just wanted to thank some of you guys on here, i have successfully jailbroke and unlocked my iphone 3gs ios 5 running on tmobile. I used snowbreeze to jailbreak and i used ultrasn0w to unlock, then went to boost mobile and had them activate a tmobile sim card then went into settings on phone and turned 3g off and wallah!!!! My iphone is up and running. thank you guys for some of the useful tips.

im running ios 5.0.1 and i had 5.0 unlocked and jb. i upgraded with itunes to 5.0.1 and my baseband still showed 6.15.00 so i jailbroke again and installed ultrasnow for the unlock. when i put my carrier sim card it says ‘invalid sim’ or ‘no service’ i have tried reinstalling the ios and rejailbreaking and reinstalling ultrasnow…. but still getting same results..

does anyone kno whats going on?? =(

There is no unlock for ios 5.0.1 yet as of today (17 Nov 2011), but I am in the same situation with my olt bootrom iphone 3gs. I am planning on waiting for the software upgrade/change to ultrasn0w to unlock 5.0.1 instead of downgrading again.

So the answer is, you did everything right. Now you have to wait. Hopefully not too long.

You can change your baseband to the iPad baseband 06.15.00 and keep ios 5.0. Then unlock again. It should work. Don’t upgrade to 5.0.1 yet though. No unlock yet.

hi im running 4.3.5 and BB 04.10.01 using a Gevey Sim card to unlock… have tried using Sn0wbreeze and Redsn0w to upgrade to iso5 and keep my BB of 04.10… but I keep getting error 3194 in itunes.. i already have a tethered jail break on the phone and always reboot using 4.3.4.

I had a different baseband but I used rredsn0w to change my baseband to 06.15.00 (CAREFUL, your GPS will not work anymore).

NOW, I was wondering if ultrasn0w also works on ios 5.0.1.

Hey whats up musclenerd i thought that if u could try my way and see if it unlocks what i did was just installed everything ( all 4.x.x versions all 5.x.x versions tiny umbrella and all redsnow versions)i tried it restoring with all of the versions and it stucked and blacked out i pluged it in and when it turned on i didnt saw anything on top left corner and waited for an hour and when i was leaving my room i saw that it suddenly appeared signal bars instead of invalid sim .so could u plz check that it was just a glitch of phone or it can actually happen with others while they try my way
