Winterboard For iOS 5 Officially Released

After we’ve showed you how to get an unofficial version of Winterboard on iOS 5, now comes the official one. Winterboard iOS 5 version is now available on Cydia for free. Winterboard for iOS 5 will make the new software even better with some new themes.

Winterboard For iOS 5

For those who don’t know, iOS 5 is currently tethered jailbroken on all devices except the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. There’s no untethered jailbreak on iOS 5 and don’t believe any spammers.

Although Winterboard for iOS 5 has been released, that doesn’t mean that all themes are currently compatible with iOS 5. Some are compatible and others are not.

You can get Winterboard by navigating to Cydia (and let it to reload) then search for “Winterboard” and you’ll see version 0.9.3211-1. The unreleased version was 0.9.3901.

    There is a untethered jb but only works with old boothrom 3gs devices

    hope jb unthetered for ios 5 comes out sooner.. i miss my installous!, sbsettings, tlert, vwallpapers2, my wi, android lock xt.. huhuhu

    try out tethered jb. it isnt THAT bad.

    You can still use Installous. Only thing is in Cydia when you install things and it says ‘Reboot’, you don’t let it reboot, but you turn off the the device.
    Then you turn it on again using iBoot (iH8Sn0w), or use the ‘just boot’ feature (Redsn0w).

    Winterboard made my iPhone 4 screen shrink when in Cydia and Settings app, anyone have similar problems with new Winterboard?

    make sure you has update your cydia ! cydia-changes-update… ! and install the latest winterboard .. 0.9.3901

    Installed Winterboard. Keeps booting into “SafeMode” saying springboard has crashed. Did I miss something?

    Never-mind. My Cydia ‘important updates’ didn’t show up until my springboard crash. Updates then winterboard are working fine.

    you can still use installous and sbsettings even when the phone isn’t unthetered. i got them installed on mine and they work perfect.

    im using suave hd, when you open a folder the old wallpaper appears, and since ios 5 uses music and video app, their icons have not been converted

    boot into safe mode, open any app tht was causing problems, then respring, open an app it will apear in tht shrink mode, then it will revert back to normal

    the new version of winteroard is making all of my apps crash even in safe mode. even cydia crashes so i had to ssh into my ipod to remove it!

    Since updating my ipad on ios 5 tethered with redsnow when I choose a theme it will not respring and apply theme.

    Another new update and nothing works I advice stick to 0.9.3211 because everything after that doesn’t seem to be working!

    A lot doesn’t work and the tutorials on the net seem mostly inaccurate for WB on IOS 5. Any chance there will be an updated tutorial?

    keeps rebooting my iphone 3gs on os 5.0.1 had to remove via iphone folders and get into iphone and delete the winterboard folder from the applications folder
