YES! You’ll Be Able To Get Siri On iPhone 4!

by Ahmed Omar on October 14, 2011

Yes, you read it right! You’ll be able soon to install & enable Siri on your iPhone 4 thanks to the jailbreak community. We’ve previously told you that both iPhone hackers @iH8sn0w and @Gojohnnyboi were working to port iPhone 4S’ A5-only Siri feature on A4 devices as the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G.
Install & Enable Siri On iPhone 4 Soon
The progress looks like to be going great. iH8sn0w has that Siri feature is not made for A5 devices only. In other words, it can be ported on A4 devices too.

Excellent news. Siri is not just compiled specifically for the A5 (s5l8940x) processor. Thanks @Gojohnnyboi :)

That’s good news for all iPhone 4 users who are not willing to buy an iPhone 4S. Since iPhone 4S’ biggest feature is coming to the iPhone 4, some people may not get it.

However, the iPhone 4S includes a lot of big features too as the powerful A5 dual-core processor and its 8 megapixel camera with 1080 video recording ability.

In case you want to get Siri on your iPhone 4, you’ll need to wait for a while so that the hackers can port it successfully. You’ll always be able to get any updates and news by following our site.

(Thanks everyone for sending this in!)

UPDATE: Another developer could port Siri on the iPhone 4. Here’s a video showing it in real.

If you found this post useful, hopefully hit the +1 (recommend) button ⇉

Now I kinda wish I woulda just kept my 4 instead of upgrading to the 4S lol. Oh well, still some big improvements inside.

  • http://twitter.com/trymeatsix Kim

Dis jost got me rlly hapi
Jk, Seriously this is great!! Getting siri is awesome. One problem tho, what if the voice recognition isnt as good as on iPhone 4S? Cause we all know how the current one is..

  • Ahmed

    what about 3GS ?

  • Cullen

It shouldn’t be an issue. All the voice to text translation is done server side so the 4 should work closely on par with the 4S

  • Dude

    no way

  • Anon

Been looking all over for days for this! Can’t wait for the process. I will definitely donate to the first dev site to get this up…

  • Saeid_be_kewl

    awesome

  • Vinvin

Will it be for jb phones or will those of us who don’t jb our phones get an easy port also?

  • John

No you will not get it if you don’t jailbreak your phone. I suggest doing some research and learning about jb. It’s completely reversible (with a itunes restore), wont void your warranty, and you get benefits such as these.

  • Whodidit2010

    what about iPod touches?

  • Whodidit2010

    NVM lol

  • Blodstone

will ipod touches get it too?

  • baekhosung

what about 3gs is it posible ?? to have siri ??

  • http://twitter.com/loptimistk loptimistk

what about IMEI checking to use Siri?

  • Anonymous

It’s a totally different engine, Siri uses Nuance’s engine, the existing voice control is not Nuance. If you want to test out the accuracy, get the free dragon dictate app and try it out.

  • Thengwei

jus get iPhone 4s… time to upgrade urs too

  • maxxell

Or you could get the Siri app from the app store.

Waaait a minute. It’s no longer available from the app store. But I still have it on my phone. For the record, it’s nothing like the Siri that’s available on the 4s.

  • http://www.lwry.me/ Matthew L.

If you’re on a 3GS it’s time to upgrade mate..

  • Paul

    Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen?

  • Anonymous

Actually, it DOES void your warranty. Just cause its legal in the US now it doesnt mean that Apple has changed their T&C for the warranty. The warranty can’t be amended by the law. You’re right on everything else though.

  • http://TheOnlyCog.com The Only Cog

Shame it will not work fully! Siri use Apple server for much of the hard work, and of course they will reject non-4S requests

  • Ryan

U guys are fucking awesome! Keep up the good work.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1192985725 Connor Edwards

how long will it take ?

  • Samhayne

No, this is just impossible. It uses Apple server that connects to your IMEI so Apple process has to accept it. Same as old iTunes. So, the Apple process will see your not a 4S user so it will be denied and you won’t be able to Enable SIRI. Sorry, but it’s not real.

    - Sam

  • Samhayne

Nice to delete my previous post. See, I was right. YOU FUCKING LIARS.

  • Oooiyuiopt

    lol :)

  • wrath1001

theres no proof if you factory reset your iPhone or iPod…so, doesn’t void warranty. And considering i sent my iPhone 3gs in for repair after factory resetting it and they didn’t charge me a dime for a brand new phone…id say they can’t tell the difference.

  • Anonymous

that is why the video had no actual demo of its functionality!

  • Anonymous

If you have an iphone 4, why would u get an iphone 4s. siri is cool, but its not worth $300 and a new contract

  • Anonymous

Correct. But you are referring to a phone when you’ve removed the jailbreak. I’ve also had to replace my iPhone from apple and I restored before I got it replaced for free.

It DOES void your warranty in the JAILBROKEN STATE. Just try getting an apple employee to replace a jailbroken device which hasn’t been restored. Exactly.

Imagine this. If you’ve jailbroken your device but you’ve dropped it in water so you can’t do anything on the device, let alone restore it. Apple have ways of reading the device and if they find it’s jailbroken, they can deny you service.

So, to make it clear, the jailbreaking process voids the warranty. However, it is reversible and so, you can ‘get back’ your warranty. Hope it cleared up the confusion.

  • Skarekrow73

I had my Jailbroken iPhone 4 replaced for free outside of warranty because the lock button spring broke. The guy noticed it was Jailbroken and agreed that as it is a hardware issue, the jailbreak makes no difference. If you had somehow crashed the hard drive or bricked the phone Jailbreaking, then maybe it would void the warranty, but that’s rare, most times software isn’t what means you need a replacement. I’m pretty sure none of them care.

  • Brian

Uhhhh, or you could get the Siri app…. Duh

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id= Zaffar Baig

idiots dont use ur stupid brains… these hackers know what they are doing.. they would know that apple will check the imei 1st but they will find its alternative.. so stop thinking that u r more intelligent thn these super genius.. have u guys ever created things lyk these hackers has done so far? obviously not.. so please keep ur fucking mouth shut!!

  • your a clown Zaffer

    lmao! “lyk”…

  • Mileycryas

There’s no Siri app on the app store stupid

  • Jay

    theres a siri app?

  • jay

    i didn’t think so…

  • Josh

Yes because iPhones have hard drives lol

  • Anonymous

True haha lol well yes there are those people that don’t really care but still technically jailreaking violates the Apple ToS and therefore you technically lose your warranty.

  • Good Luck

I believe there’s a very high possibility to make it real. but only after the iphone 4 is jailbroken in order to change/add software/systems into the device. eg. install SBSettings which can control the iphone;s setting in fast way. To add SIRI, as long as the hacker/developer get the source code for the system, i guess it shouldn be a problem. I believe they own the source code as long as they own a 4s. Therefore, the only thing to concern is “Can the device hack/connect into the apple’s siri server, so that the Siri can talk like 4s does?”

Good luck to the hackers/developer/genius/whoever can make it happen/already made it – to make a stable version of SIRI to work on our iphone 4 :)

  • Envoguemobile

I would like to get Siri on my iphone two, can anyone help??

  • jeff

If you dropped it in water they won’t do anything for you anyway. You would need separate insurance for that. Apple won’t replace your device for free due to your negligence. Jailbreaking should not make a difference in that case.

  • Vaibhav Bhat

No; it’s the same way they have previously ported Apple features to older devices. It’s simple: a matter of SSH blobs, etc which identify the device. The process of jailbreaking enables users to change the device identifier in some cases. Don’t worry; these guys have been doing it since iPhone 1g. They know what they’re doing. :)

  • Anonymous

If you say so. My little brother dropped his iPod touch 2G MC in a puddle and it got damaged. So when we took it to a Genius Bar a few weeks later, they replaced it and charged us nothing. Just saying.

  • Steve

Infernova just shut up. Jailbreaking doesn’t affect your warranty permanently because you just do a restore and it clears the jailbreak. If you were to cause any damage to your phone, then Apple would NOT replace it for you either way so it wouldn’t matter. Apple does NOT cover negligence. End of story.

  • Steve J

High five dude. These guys are idiots. ih8sn0w (hacker) even said himself, after Siri was announced but before iPhone 4s had been released, that if Apple’s servers checked your phone to make sure it was an iPhone 4s that it would be easy to send fake data about your phone. So this is very well a possibilty.

  • Anonymous

Incorrect, my friend. True, the warranty isn’t voided permanently. I never said it was voided permanently; I simply said that it would be voided while you have the jailbreak.

Buy if Apple doesn’t cover negligence, tell me why they replace iPhones with cracked screens for no charge?

  • Steve

Okay but why would anyway in there right mind take a jailbroken Apple device to the store to get it replaced?

And they don’t replace damaged iPhone screens quit being a troll. Everyone knows that isn’t true. If you damage your screen everyone knows you have have to buy a new screen or phone. Been like that since day 1, that’s why insurance isn’t offered for iPhones with your carrier plan.

  • Anonymous

Carrier plan. I see – are you from the US? I’m from Australia do things might be a bit different here. I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4 and I took it into Genius Bar after I dropped it and the screen cracked. Yes, I restored so there was no trace of my jailbreak. They took my cracked iPhone, made me sign an Apple sheet of paper saying I got the IPhone replaced and they gave me a brand new iPhone. For free.

There have been plenty of these kinds of stories all over the Internet. I’m not a troll – I just haven’t been living in a ditch for the last few years.

  • Sparky

I heard that Siri uses a lot of ram which can slow down the iPhone 4 since it has less ram than the 4s. Is that true? If its ported successfully, will it run smoothly?

  • Ryry013

There used to be a Siri app but they took it down prior to the announcement of the iPhone 4S

  • Frank

Your a moron end of story. Practice as you preach, and keep your mouth shut. Next time you want to speak write it down first and read it later if it still sounds as unintelligent as when you thought it up… Keep it on that sheet of paper. Your a waste of space stop wasting the air too. Have a great day.

  • Gerald Drumright

OK I would like Siri enabled on my iphone 4 but really the only thing I want is voice texting that works. Not a copy and past thing. I travel a lot and having a phone in your hand and driving will get you up to a $500 fine. I will eventually get the 4s or wait for the five but I never get the newest stuff I let others work out the bugs

  • Guest

so when is it going to be available? i would recommend to create a facebook face, and all the oweners of iphone 4 will subsribe to your page to get siri

  • seymore butz

I used to have the siri app on my 3g, was pretty lame and i never used it. But, I’d love to get it for my 4…it works great on the 4s. Wonder why they took it down as an app?

  • Dude21489

The iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S both have 512MB of RAM

  • Anonymous

Frank, and that is why you can’t differentiate between “your” an “you’re”, right? Perhaps you should refrain from writing and stop vilifying on others, you hypocrite. Have a great day.

  • Senith

There is an app called VOICE ACTIONS in app store and cost you $3.99. It is similar to Siri…

  • http://www.allplatformtv.com/ Jim Robinson

You can use Vlingo until Siri is ported. Works pretty well, but won’t talk back.

  • http://twitter.com/mlmcconnell Michael McConnell

Nevermind that having a phone in your hand and driving is just plain irresponsible and stupid.

  • Sher1998

    when will this be realesed

  • Can some one tell me when this is going to be realesed please ! I would really appreciate that thank you all and have a nice day!

  • Adam Standring91

Can this app only be installed on jailbroken Iphones?

  • Tyler

Uh, bro, they do have hard drives…please don’t comment on a topic that you have no clue about.

  • ~PokeHer

wah it is so cool and i can’t wait to get siri ^^

  • Iamascot3

    Idk

  • Captain O.

    @Cullen

LOL your such an A typical Apple consumer whose sucked into their trap of lies. 4S did nothing innovative besides the voice recognition and the iSheep followers take it in the rectum and swallow Apples load at the cash register.

Recent reports indicated all of Apple’s customers are arrogant, none technical, and make over 100k a year.

  • AT&Tsales

JB ing ur phone will void ur warranty. Thats is not uo for discussion. Wait til ur phone is past its warranty and have fun.

  • AT&Tsales

oh and yes i had a few typo’s but its about content not an english class

  • Mcanes10

NO U CANNOT. Trust me when i tell u that it does not work all the time. if they did then someone got fired.
